For more free healthy recipes, cooking tips and tutorials go to www.FaveDiets.com How to make your own tahini for use as a sauce for falafels, a dip for veges, to roll in lettuce leaves, spread on raw crackers, or as a base for raw hummus or halvah. Soak 1 c. sesame seeds in water for at least 40 minutes. Blend in blender 'til creamy. Add water or a little olive oil a little at a time as you scrape down the sides of the blender and blend some more. This is your tahini! To make it into a sauce/spread: Add one lemon, whole, or the juice of, plus 2 Tab. red raw miso 1-2 cloves garlic This is your sauce! To make it into a dressing, add 1 T. apple cider vinegar and 1/2 water. To make it into hummus, blend with 2 peeled zucchini! Enjoy! To make it into halvah, use the original sesame seeds and water only, and add 2 T. raw honey. Shape into balls. Add coconut, raisins, carob, maple syrup if desired.
